these bulbs are brighter and richer than stock and are more noticeable than stock. The red bulbs in red fixtures provides a rich red and bright light. The white bulbs in a red fixture appear slightly reddish orange.I conclude these bulbs are a significant improvement over stock. Strongly recommend using red bulbs in red fixtures and white bulbs in clear fixtures.I have no idea what kind of lifetime these bulbs have but they have to last longer than stock and would be an advisable upgrade over stock in applications where access is not particularly easy.These bulbs do not have a built in resistor and will hyper flash in turn signal applications. If that is undesirable you must install a load resistor to slow the flash rate down. I’m not sure if one per side will slow down the rate of flash for the side. If not, you must use one load resistor per bulb. Use extreme care when installing them as they can get hot enough to melt nearby plastic parts. It would be best to use some sort of insulation under them and mount to a metal panel. Installation of load resistors require solid connection between the hot side wire and ground wire going to the lamp holder. 3157 bulbs have two filaments necessitating connection between the ground wire and turn signal wire.
