Nice and bright... lite weight...Porch light.I got these for a few reasons (bug light, LED, appearance).From a bug light standpoint, look elsewhere. I have just as many moths collecting on the soffits of my porch as I did with CFLs in the porch light. Not sure what the problem is, perhaps it's the level and intensity of the light these put out. I purchased the lowest wattage bulbs and they are still very bright. Honestly, if they were half as bright as they are now, I think they'd be fine (and save more energy and attract less flying insects)... 1 star for the bug light.From an appearance standpoint, I absolutely love the color of the light these put out and the color it casts on the walls and ground. I really like the bulb itself too. It looks like a "retro" Edison bulb compared to the other LED bug bulbs that look more like a conventional LED. If you're using a glass globe fixture where these can be seen, this would make a difference, but if you're using a frosted globe, a sconce, or something else that shields the bulb, this probably won't matter too much to you. For me, 5 stars on the appearance.Regardless of the "bug" performance not meeting my expectations, I would most certainly buy these again!I purchased these beautiful bulbs for my outdoor lights on each side of my two-car garage door. These bulbs are beautiful looking as you can see the pretty filaments inside the bulbs and they are attractive and pleasing to look at. They are just the right amount of brightness for outside decorative lights and they cast plenty of light to see your way after dark. It is difficult to get a decent picture in the dark of lit light bulbs but I attempted it and I uploaded the best pictures I could manage well after sunset. If you want to leave your lights on for three hours every night, as all of the neighbors do in my neighborhood, then you can't beat these LED energy-saving electric-bill-reducing light bulbs.Since I implemented these the larger insects no longer gather at my lights (fireflies, horse flies, beetles, etc.) Unfortunately this doesn't work for gnats, fruit flies & other smaller flying insects. With the larger insects gone it provides less incentives for spiders & centipedes to make nests at my door as well.So far I haven't had any problems other than gnats, but I also sprayed my doorways, the siding & lights with insecticide that lasts for 12 months which also acts as a deterrent. The light that I hadn't sprayed with insecticide had noticeably more gnats gathering around it.I like these bulbs! They aren't harsh or glaring. Very relaxing and easy on the eyes. Pretty in floor lamp that has three lights! Will definitely buy more when amazon has them again! Just the bulbs I've been looking for!2 bulbs lasted a week, then went "dim ", filaments loose in bulbs. But I purchased a 4-pack so I'm not in the dark.The bulbs that do work properly are very nice, bright and amber. Bulbs may have been damaged in transit across the " pond ".In order to save money, the purple bulbs are purple glass surrounding standard orange colored LED filaments. This is the cheaper route to go than the more expensive bulbs, which have filaments that are covered with a purple material; as such, the purple bulbs are more pink than they are purple.We have them in our wall accent lighting beside the sink in our master bathroom, and they look great. If they last anywhere close to the estimated lifespan, they will be worth the minor investment. We needed to change the incandescent bulbs pretty frequently.
