I don't have foot lamps in my Chevy Colorado only a dome light and these make it super bright all the way to the floor. I love them. The only complaint I have is that one of the lights stays on after I shut the truck off its very very dim though. I can switch it on and have full brightness but when it's off its like its sucking minimal power. I put my old bulb back in and no power to it when the vehical is off, new LED bulb lights up with or without the keys. Because of that I give 4 stars. They're bright and cheap. Good buy.Lights are very bright, except for the license plate bulbs which are dim in comparison.Yesbright light improved interiorLights up brightI'm ok with these but will switch back to factory bulbs. Yes, you have to put these in one direction. If the bulb does not work, take it out and rotate it. All the bulbs worked. I had to rotate a couple to get them to work. This is a minor pain. More so because the bulbs are not as bright as the factory ones.Which brings me to the point. Why change the bulbs out if the LED is not brighter, or better than the factory bulbs? I know there are some energy savings. But, only when you are sitting stopped, motor not running, lights on, will you see some extended battery life. But who does that? For the quick on and off that I use the interior lights the battery in my vehicle will last for many hours.I do not and have never noticed any heat from the factory bulbs. I'm sure these will be cooler but that is not a factor for me.Overall, I bought them so I installed them. Hopefully these will last the entire life of the vehicle.
