I gave these only 4 stars because I wanted to adjust the sensitivity settings, but that's not possible. It's permanently set by the manufacturer. One is more sensitive than the other. Very bright & nice!For starters, it must be dark in order for the sensor to work. Just an FYI as I have had some that come on in daylight. It's a little effort to mount overhead. Otherwise, it's bright and sensitive. I have it mounted under an overhang so we will see how well it does outdoors. Overall, seems to work well.These worked great. Used these in a couple of placed in our back yard where we don't have electricity run. These were so easy to put up and work perfectly. They are very bright lights. I ordered a second pack for some additional lighting in some dark spots in our yard. Highly recommend.It is outside on our lanai aiming at a screen door. Just a motion detector in case someone was trying to get into the screened area.just needs to stay on longerThese are heavy duty (and heavily weighted) LED lights ... the 4-D-size batteries provide their mass, but I'm hoping the large batteries will also provide longevity in lighting -- these were installed in hard-to-reach ceiling locations without available electricity, and if I don't have to touch them again for a few years -- I'll be happy.I bought these because they provided the highest (600-lumen) brightness I could find, and I'm using them in pairs in enclosed places (a closet and pantry). So far, so good.The motion detector 'On' switches take a second or two to respond, but I believe they work consistently.The 30-second "Off" function seems to work quite well, once there is no more motion.The Customer Service has been excellent and quick-to-respond -- "Thanx!"Problems I've noticed:a). You can't install these on a ceiling to look straight down; the shafts holding the lights to the base are not long enough for a 90deg angle.b). My solution to (a) was to mount the lights high on the wall, just below the ceiling. But, to do this, it's very awkward tilting or rotating the heavy light case out of the way, to insert and install the screws holding the unit to the wall.c). The O-rings surrounding the battery case do not hold themselves well on the outer rim, and when they pulled themselves inwards -- I had a very hard time moving them back to their correct place. I cannot speak to the integrity of the O-rings when used outside in a wet location (my mountings were indoors).I have bought similar lights before and find them convenient and economical. The YoungPower lights are both, and would have gotten five stars from me except for two things: 1) it's not a good sign when one of the units is defective (it would come on for no apparent reason and then stay on, draining the batteries), and 2) the wall mount attaches to the light itself in a difficult manner (once the two are attached, I could not figure out how to detach them without breaking some of the plastic). The defective unit cost it one star, but customer service did a good job and so earned back 1/2 of that lost star. They did ask for a video showing the installation to verify there was nothing externally causing the problem, which was reasonable if making such is second nature to you. For me, not a problem; for others, perhaps. The remaining 1/2 star loss comes from the method of attachment, which I think is cheap and easy to make but hard for me to work with. Again, your experience may differ. The replacement unit is now in place and working just fine.Great for shaded areas that won’t allow solar security lights. Motion sensor seems to be slightly too sensitive in windy conditions causing a lot of false triggers.A bit disappointed because the light comes on only for a few seconds. I quickly looked at the instructions to see if the time could be adjusted. NO... I wouldn't have purchased the item. You want/need light to shine on your path to your door, unlock the door, etc, etc. Doesn't meet my needs.I Have purchased 4 of these lights. Opened one package ( 2x lights in one Package) , tired the first light and as soon as I opened the battery casing Cap to insert batteries, the O-ring ( Water Proof Seal) came off and took me 5 min to put it back on due to very poor design. Hard to insert batteries, very tight space and again due to poor and cheap design. anyway, after inserting 4x brand new D-Cell Batteries it did not work ! swapped batteries around and made sure it was inserted as per the instruction, still did not work. tried the second light and the same but when I press the back of the cover it works ( back of the Cover is where the contact points are ) , I believe the contact points are not designed correctly and they battery probably doesn't sit right on it ! please make sure you test them before sending to customers. you wasted my time as I had to wait 2 weeks for them to arrive.
